Deep in the Weeds is Australia’s leading food, drink and travel podcast network with an audience comprising the most engaged and influential food audience in Australia and abroad.
Founded by Anthony Huckstep and Rob Locke it started as a way to give the hospitality industry a voice during the COVID-19 crisis.
Although the pandemic and lockdown highlighted a need for an industry voice as the industry collapsed, it exposed the lack of voice the industry has had generally in Australia.
Hospitality is an industry that has been judged, critiqued and filtered by the food media – something Host Anthony Huckstep had been part of, but Deep in the Weeds removes the filter by creating an opportunity to change the conversation of food in Australia and globally with those colouring our culinary landscape.
The Deep in the Weeds Network is a chance to tell the true stories of those in the food industry through podcasts, videos and other content that enables genuine conversations, and its blossomed into a platform never before seen.
Food is an important part of all our lives, and those carving a career in food, whether in kitchens, on the floor, on a farm, in the water or working the vines stories are often far more fascinating than what ends up on the plate.
This is a platform that allows food people to share their story, unfiltered, raw, real, inspiring and joyous. It also enables discussions on the challenges, the trauma, the successes.
The more we talk, the more we understand differences, similarities, and appreciate how to celebrate both.
